Congratulations to Emma Rae Woodhouse, who has won this year's Sky News Bob Friend Scholarship.

Emma will join Sky News for a month-long internship over the summer, where she will work alongside the news organisation's journalists in various departments.

She overcame stiff competition in the form of fellow shortlisted candidates Bernie Botto, Duarte Dias and George Nixon - each of whom impressed the interview panel with their carefully-considered treatments for a Sky News story, and their passion and commitment to journalism.

The scholarship will formally be awarded at the annual Bob Friend lecture on 2 March, which this year will be given by Sky's Economics Editor Ed Conway.

Good on you Emma, showing the older years that first year isn't just a cop out year. Everyone in the year is so happy you won it! :)
