But I think there should be a qualification to your optimism: time is against the papers. A new model needs to be struck on soon. £100,000 pounds a day is absolutely astronomical, and unsustainable in even the medium term. There's no guarantee that one will emerge and have time to settle before some extremely well established outlets go under. You hint at this when you say future big hitters are yet to emerge, but the flip side to that coin (sadly) is more empty newsrooms.
PS: are you currently reading the harry potter books to Molly, Tim? It just struck me as a bit of an incongruous reference coming from you...
