Shorthand Champions League wk5

The group stages of the Shorthand Champions League reach their thrilling finale this morning.

Going into the final round of fixtures all eyes will be on Group E, where Thomas, Ile, Matt and Tom are involved in a four-way scrap for the two qualification places.

In Group D Andrew and Mirela have a showdown for second place, while in Group G two unbeaten performers - Evie and Alys - will meet each other knowing that defeat could mean elimination from the tournament.

Shorthand Champion League week three

Here are today's fixtures in the Shorthand Champions League, as the group table reaches its mid-point.

The second round of fixtures encapsulated everything we have come to expect from competitive Tee-line: drama, heartbreak and unimaginable glory.

The highlight of the round was the Tom derby in Group E. Acres gave his fans a lot to think about on the long trip home after a last-gasp slip handed victory to the flawless Coast.

Shorthand Champions League: Week Two

It was a high (or should that be low?) scoring week in the opening round of fixtures, and a lot of our shorthand competitors will be looking for better performances in week two.

The first set of tables is published below (pdf). The results included a thrilling 0-0 draw in Group E, where the race for qualification looks set to be tight and brutal.

Meanwhile, here are the fixtures to be played on Friday, February 13:

Reminder: Year One assessment next week

The first assessed news writing test for Reporting and Writing I will be sat in the newsroom from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, February 10.

The test is worth 15% of your overall mark for my module, and follows the same format as the mock paper we did in the first week of this term.

Make sure you're there (on time) on Tuesday. I can't offer retakes for unauthorised absences.
