FILM CREW NEEDED FOR BOB FRIEND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP LECTURE!

Hey guys,

I need FIVE VOLUNTEERS to part of the film crew on March the 2nd to cover the Bob Friend Memorial Lecture. This year's event will be more complicated (and interesting) to film because we will have not one, but two fantastic guest speakers. This year's event will see John Humphrys, presenter of Radio 4's Today Programme, in conversation with Adam Boulton of Sky News.

Year 3 60 SEC bulletin practice!!!!!

Hey guys!

I will be running a session on how to survive (and excel) your 60 sec bulletin assessment. There will be two sessions and if you can make both I would recommend you do it.

We will do this in the 3rd year newsroom

  • the 25th of FEB, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm
  • the 2nd of MARCH, from 12pm to 3pm

I will show you some examples from previous years, explain how it works, and then we will do a trial run in real time. You will get a chance to practice reading off the prompter as well.

Attention 3rd Years!! Video Refresher afternoon 11 DEC

Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the technical skills you should have by now (but have probably forgotten cause you haven't used them in a while)?

If this is your face every time people mention FCPX, cameras or video, FEAR NOT!

Richard Pendry and yours truly are putting on a video refresher afternoon from 2-4pm in the main newsroom on Thursday the 11th of December.

Have a listen to CFJ Radio, courtesy of the MA class

In their first ever full  newsday the MA class pulled together to make 50 min of live radio news. Presenters Thom Coast and Mirela Vulaj had to deal with technical hiccups from the desk (sorry) but all in all it's starting to sound like live radio.

From waiting for the Philae probe to not crash and burn out in space and getting the latest on the  Ched Evans debacle the team did everything from two ways and packages to live corresponding from London.
