A quick reminder to MA students and to BA year 1 and year 2 students: make sure you have done your blog post for this term by the end of next week.

Remember this forms part of your coursework assessments for Practical Multimedia Journalism (for the MAs) and for Convergent Journalism (for the BAs).

Year 3 session: secondary project pieces and web analytics

Year 3 students please note: we'll be running a combined session on Monday 13 March to cover a couple of important things for your projects and for Convergent Journalism 3.

We'll go through the details of secondary pieces for your project, and then we'll be taking a look at web analytics - including some interesting examples using data from from your newsdays.

Session starts at 11am in the small newsroom.

Register now for January's NCTJ Production Journalism exam

An important reminder that all students intending to take the NCTJ Production Journalism exam on 26 January MUST register with Anastasia today or tomorrow.

This applies to Year 2, Year 3 and MA students on the accredited course. It's particularly important for those Year 3 students who will need this exam to reach the necessary number of NCTJ diploma credits. Check with me if you're not sure.

You will not be able to register in the new year because of NCTJ rules - so please act now.

Danny Rust lands sport reporter job at Essex Echo

Many congratulations to Danny Rust, who has just landed a fantastic job as sports reporter for the Essex Echo. He'll be reporting (no doubt entirely objectively) on West Ham United as well as covering tennis and athletics.

Danny graduated from our BA programme in the summer, and tells us that his new sports editor had been keeping an eye on his progress during his time at the Centre for Journalism - and contacted him directly to tell him to apply when the job vacancy came up.
