Help I'm stuck in limbo

Look I’m on the verge of being an adult but am somehow no longer a child. I’m in an extremely confusing point in my life where one second I’m being told to grow up and be an adult and then the next second I’m being told I’m too young and don’t understand and therefore I shouldn’t try do a job suited for an adult.

I promise this isn’t going to be one of those clichéd adolescent rants about how I should be treated like an adult… well at least I hope it won’t be. So just in case:

The pill has always been a woman's problem, and that's not about to change

Originally, I was planning to write a blog post titled: It’s time to woman up and take the pill. I was going to talk about the fact that a new male contraceptive pill has been in the works for the last few years and last year it finally got to its trial stage. All seemed well at the beginning until men started to drop out of the trial. And why was that? Because of the side effects. Side effects which included, headaches, weight gain, moodiness and nausea and increased risks of blood clots.

If you're from Africa, why are you white?

I'm sure by now it has become quite obvious to the people that I am studying with that I am not from Britain. I think my accent gives me away, or maybe it's the fact that I think twenty degrees celsius is cold. Whatever it is, it is clear that I am a foreigner. (And yes, I have now become accustomed to hearing the classic Mean Girls quote 'But if you're from Africa, why are you white?')

Rhinos in crisis: a plea from South Africa

As a South African I have heard about rhino poaching since I can remember. We basically grow up chanting “No more poaching”. Even though there is fierce opposition to poaching in the countries affected, the poaching industry has continued to thrive.
